Manages daily operations, including hiring and supervising staff, budgeting, ensuring safety, promoting services, and maintaining quality standards. Actively connects with participants through group activities, one-on-one support, and educational sessions to build confidence, life skills, and promote long-term healing and recovery. **What You’ll Do:** + Support and mentor people facing mental health challenges, substance use, homelessness, or big life changes — using your own lived experience. + Build trusting, respectful relationships with library visitors and have meaningful conversations focused on hope and recovery. + Work closely with library staff and social workers to connect patrons with the help they need. + Guide people to local resources like housing, food, jobs, and health care, and assist them in accessing these services. + Lead or co-lead support groups and wellness workshops in the library. + Speak up for patrons and help them navigate complex support systems. + Keep clear, confidential records as needed. + Take part in regular training, team meetings, and supervision. + Be a living example of resilience, wellness, and recovery. **What We're Looking For:** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience — 2 years of related work for each year of education). + At least 2 years of experience working with individuals living with mental illness or other disabilities. + Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team. + Strong organizational and management abilities. + Clear, effective communicator — both spoken and written. + Collaborative and solution-focused — able to bring people together to plan and problem-solve. + Compassionate and responsive to the needs of those you serve. + Fluent in spoken and written English. + Willing to complete required training on time as directed by supervisors. + If the role involves driving, must meet and maintain all fleet safety requirements. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master’s degree. + Personal experience with mental health recovery. **Working at University Health is about making a difference.
