Supervisor, Volunteer & Concierge Services

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Volunteer & Concierge Services - Patient Experience and Culture - Monday - Friday 8AM-4PM or 9AM-5PM.

In this role, the successful candidate The Volunteer & Concierge Services Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Patient Experience and Culture and
will oversee and manage the volunteer services program and the concierge services staff and operations. This
individual will ensure that all volunteers and concierge will receive proper training, guidance, and supervision. The ideal
candidate will have strong leadership skills, a commitment to patient care, and experience in team management,
recruitment, and training within a healthcare or hospitality setting.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Volunteer Services Management
Lead the recruitment, training, and supervision of the Volunteer Services department, ensuring a well trained,
motivated, and compassionate team of volunteers.
Develop orientation programs and training materials for new volunteers to educate them on hospital
procedures, patient care practices, and their specific roles within the hospital.
Maintain accurate documentation of volunteer activities, hours, certifications, and any required legal
compliance (e.g., background checks, vaccinations).
Regularly review and update volunteer protocols, ensuring that all policies and procedures are aligned
with hospital standards and NYU Langone Health.
Provide ongoing support to volunteers, addressing their concerns, providing feedback, and fostering a
welcoming and rewarding environment.
2. Concierge Staff Oversight
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the concierge desk, and hospitality services.
Manage and oversee the performance of all concierge staff, ensuring the highest level of
professionalism, discipline, and customer service is maintained.
Develop and implement training programs to educate staff on hospital protocols, customer service
standards, and desk job functions.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, addressing areas for improvement and celebrating
successes.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and a patient-first mentality.
Hold monthly staff meetings.
3. Collaboration and Communication
Act as a liaison between the hospital's administration and the concierge/volunteer teams to ensure
alignment of goals, services, and hospital values.
Work closely with the Human Resources department to ensure proper staffing levels, compliance with
hospital regulations, and staff performance management.
Collaborate with hospital departments to identify areas where concierge or volunteer services can
enhance the patient experience.
4. Program Development and Continuous Improvement
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the concierge and volunteer programs, seeking opportunities
to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
Implement innovative solutions to improve workflow efficiencies, patient interactions, and volunteer
engagement.
Keep best practices in hospital hospitality and volunteer services, integrating new strategies into NYU Langone HospitalSuffolks programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
Proven leadership abilities with experience in recruiting, training, and managing teams.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and patients.
Knowledge of hospital operations, patient care, and volunteer management is highly desirable.

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $75,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
