Overview of the Role:
The Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for managing, coordinating and optimizing the supply chain network and transportation activities; and ensuring the continuous improvement of procedures, processes and results.
How you will make contributions that matter:
Provide first-class transportation services for both internal stakeholders and external customersCarry out freight bookings, load tenders and truck assignments (weekly schedules & changes)Audit, code and track invoices (detention charges, rates, backups, corrections, etc)Maintain freight & 3PL trackers (truck assignments / outside warehousing master)Assist with period end (statements, accruals) and annual budgetsManage resolution of operational issues and adapt to changing priorities based on business needsMonitoring and analyzing the performance of freight carriers to improve carrier performanceAct as a link between carriers and the various Saputo internal departmentsIdentify and implement cost saving initiativesPerforms all duties in a safe and efficient mannerComplies with all Saputo’s food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements and programsDemonstrates integrity in all business activities with employees, suppliers and freight carriersReliable and consistent attendance and flexibility in work hoursCross training for vacation coverageYou are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field and equivalent job experienceTransportation operations experience preferableExperience participating in cross-functional teamsAbility to develop relationships with all Levels of managementStrong communication, multi-tasking, planning, analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsSelf motivated, organizational skills, detail oriented, and integrity is essentialWe support and care for our employees and their families by providing:
