This hands-on role oversees construction and maintenance of equipment, fences, stalls, barns, roads, ponds, and farm buildings, while ensuring the property is safe, functional, and well cared for. **Essential Functions** + Supervises and participates in the daily operations and maintenance of an animal care and holding complex for a variety of large animal species that supports veterinary teaching, research, and treatment programs. + Provides technical and mechanical assistance in the maintenance of fleet equipment and schedules annual equipment maintenance. + Inspects, documents maintenance, and advises on the management and care of the lands, facilities, and animals. + Assists the director in planning and deciding protocols pertaining to facilities, equipment, supplies, animal health or care operations, and employees. + This position has some after-hours, holiday, and weekend responsibility if emergencies involving the farm facilities and equipment require attention. + Performs other duties as assigned.
