Superintendent of ConstructionJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee all on‑site activities for heavy civil and marine construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with quality standards and project specifications.

ResponsibilitiesOversee daily field operations from mobilization through project closeoutSupervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure coordinated workflowMaintain project schedules and budgets; implement corrective actions when neededEnforce OSHA standards and company safety policies; conduct safety meetings and site inspectionsMonitor workmanship and compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirementsMaintain daily logs, progress reports, and site documentationIdentify and resolve field issues that may impact timelines or costsCollaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and clients to support smooth project executionManage equipment, deliveries, and material staging on‑siteEssential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred5+ years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction supervisionStrong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and specificationsFamiliarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project)Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with DOT, bridge, and marine infrastructure projectsOSHA 30‑hour certificationAbility to manage multiple crews and subcontractorsBackground in construction inspection, safety, and subcontractor managementExperience with heavy civil work including DOT, railroads, bridges, deep foundations, and siteworkExperience managing projects exceeding $15 millionFamiliarity with Procore and BluebeamWork Environment

This role requires on‑site presence five days a week, with occasional visits to client offices or additional project locations. The company operates a large fabrication facility and owns its equipment, allowing for efficient production of high‑grade components for specialized projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Plantsville, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
