We are seeking a dedicated Superintendent to oversee a Microsoft data center project located in the Phoenix, AZ metro area. This role will initially last for 6+ months, with the potential for additional contracts and a 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity. The scope of work includes fiber pulls and the installation of new racks, all within existing conduits, with several subcontractors on site. The position requires travel, with mileage reimbursement provided for mobilization and demobilization, and approximately 80% GSA max for per diem days. No set home rotations are provided, as this will depend on project schedules.
ResponsibilitiesManage authorization and daily scope of work.Oversee vendor and subcontractor management.Develop a schedule and cost-effective plan for project completion.Collaborate with staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.Coordinate and schedule work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers.Regularly inspect work for quality and timeliness and prepare progress reports.Collaborate with architects, engineers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.Ensure specifications and regulations outlined in plans are followed.Obtain required permits and licenses and execute construction contracts.Monitor budget throughout the project and communicate variances.Maintain records related to costs and inventory.Address any safety violations or deficiencies.Collaborate with union representatives to answer questions and clarify procedures.Essential SkillsProven experience in construction management and subcontractor management.Knowledge of OSHA 30 regulations.Proficiency in Procore and other construction management software.Experience with data center and mission-critical projects.Minimum of 5 years experience in data center construction or industrial projects.Previous experience as a lead superintendent on data center or mission-critical projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with schedule and vendor/subcontractor management.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to develop cost-effective plans and manage budgets.Work EnvironmentThe position involves working on-site at a data center project in Phoenix, AZ. Expect a typical work schedule with limited overtime. The environment includes collaboration with various stakeholders and management of subcontractors to ensure project specifications and safety regulations are met.
