Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Superintendent to oversee and manage the day-to-day onsite activities of construction projects. This role involves directing and supervising crews, performing construction tasks such as demolition, concrete work, and framework, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day onsite activities of construction projects.Provide direction and supervision to the construction crew.Perform tasks such as demolition, concrete work, framework, and other construction-related activities.Understand and interpret plans and specifications.Order materials, tools, and equipment necessary for project completion.Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to safety practices.Have knowledge of OSHA regulations and manage OSHA inspections effectively.Communicate with the Project Manager to organize and coordinate work schedules.Utilize software and email to track job progress and submit necessary paperwork.Attend meetings and training sessions as required.Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members.Work collaboratively with owners and architects for final inspections and project completion.Complete other responsibilities as assigned by management.Essential Skills1-2 years of experience in commercial carpentry.Ability to perform and manage tasks in commercial finish and rough carpentry.Experience with casing, trim work, and window jamb extensions.Proficiency in installing door lock sets.Knowledge of carpentry, framing, and construction management.Understanding of blueprint reading and interpretation.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to assign tasks and manage a construction crew.Skilled carpenters with over 2 years of experience are preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The shop is based out of Ames, with projects across Ames, Huxley, Ankeny, Johnston, and the DSM Metro area. Work typically involves 40-45 hours a week, with potential for long days and some Saturdays during the summer. The company fosters a team environment, is family-oriented, and emphasizes work-life balance with a 7-3:30 shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
