How you’ll make an impact:
Supervise employees and manufacturing activities pertaining to the production of products and/or manufacturing processes across - and with manufacturing/technical knowledge of - multiple production areas, depending on the complexity of the areas
Accountable for productivity, quality, and training metrics of staff, and provide regular progress reports and manufacturing metrics to management and cross-functional stakeholders, including developing resolutions as needed to improve metrics achievement
Identify improvement opportunities and lead complex improvement projects, partner with engineering on investigations and/or corrective actions, perform non-conformance investigations for review with engineering, assures documentation content is valid
Establish the scheduling of work orders and team performance metrics, including monitoring output and adjusting schedules to ensure production targets are achieved
Conduct performance reviews, including resolving performance issues
Ensure appropriate staffing for all positions
Accountable to ensure staff is appropriately trained to perform assigned work
Document owner for assigned product line assembly procedures
Monitor raw material usage and availability required in daily production, including leading resolution proposals to implementation among cross-functional teams to mediate shortages
Manage material and labor variances to meet established standards, including leading resolution proposals to implementation among cross-functional teams to mediate shortfalls
Responsible for all project outcomes of assigned unit/group of employees
Other incidental duties: May guide, mentor, and/or supervise entry level supervisors
What you’ll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Engineering field or related with more than 6 years of experience in manufacturing processes and experience in personnel supervisory with full responsibility for all personnel and handling all aspects of employee relations. In addition, technical knowledge and experience in assigned work area, and substantial experience in related manufacturing, quality and/or product development engineering.
Work shift:
Availability to work from Monday to Friday from 2.25 pm to 10.25 p.m.
Availability to work in La Lima, Cartago
What else we look for (preferred):
Proven successful project management leadership skills.
Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite with working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably JDE.
Experience working in a medical device industry/
Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives/
Full understanding of manufacturing procedures related to all stages of own area of responsibility.
Ability to analyze and identify potential line/operation layouts adjustments to improve efficiency.
Full understanding of all aspects of processes and equipment used in assigned work.
Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma.
Must be able to promote and work in an inter-departmental team environment.
Successful completion of ongoing job training of manufacturing process steps.
