JOB SUMMARY: This job will include 1) Research and development of projects on Direct/Networked V2X 2) Design and development of testbeds and vehicle proof of concept (PoC) and in-field vehicle connectivity experiments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Contribute to Direct/Networked V2X projects: Design and implement vehicle to network communication architectures leveraging communication infrastructure and cloud/MEC platformsIntegrate V2X communication methods (e.g., C-V2X, cellular connectivity) for automotive safety and traffic efficiency applications Create publications, invention disclosures and patents, and contribute to research reports, and whitepapersContribute to field experiments using prototype vehiclesAnalyze the network and vehicle connectivity with hardware (OBU, network analyzer) and software setup (Wireshark and other network measurement tools)Data analysis and visualization from communication devices and vehicle sensors to monitor, predict and improve network performance for connected vehicles

Additional Skills & Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master or Ph.D. candidate in Electrical engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunication

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Good understanding of cellular communication technologies such as LTE and 5G and vehicular communication technologies such as C-V2X

Experience with wireless communications, particularly for automotive use cases

Knowledge about applications of vehicular communication for safety, traffic efficiency and ADAS is a plus

Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP protocols, MQTT…) and analysis tools (Wireshark)

Familiarity with AI/ML, programming (Python, C/C++, ROS) debugging and troubleshooting in Linux based hardware & software environments

This is a Contract position based out of Mountain View, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.10 - $57.20/hr.
