Summer 2026 Internships: Monday, May 18, 2025 (40/hours per week max)
 

The IT Operations Intern will work on a team that oversees the installation, routine maintenance, upgrades and daily support of the network, server and storage software. This role assists in the day-to-day operation of Workiva’s systems, and is constantly looking for ways to better meet internal customer needs.

Responsibilities

Monitor, maintain, and enhance systems to ensure optimal performance

Review system performance consistently, including alerts and notices, and taking appropriate action quickly to prevent downtime

Install, configure, upgrade and maintain end user computing and telecommunication systems.

Assist the Operations team through various activities, such as facilitating change management meetings, assembling knowledge documents and helping with operations projects

What You'll Need
Skills

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement

The ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast paced, rapidly changing environment is necessary

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

Ability to quickly triage problems, identify root causes, and drive issue resolution

Experience

Experience with AWS, networks, or servers, a plus

Education

Must be actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Network Administration or related field

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions

Minimal travel

Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office
