As part of our Environmental Compliance department, you’ll gain experience and exposure to environmental obligations and considerations within the various LG&E and KU and PPL lines of business. Responsibilities **Environmental Compliance:** This internship supports activities in the Regulatory Policy and Compliance, Generation and Gas, Air Monitoring and Testing, and Projects and Site Investigation and Remediation sections of the Environmental Compliance Department. **What you will do:** + Gathers, correlates, and analyzes specific data using established procedures. + Performs a variety of routine tasks that will improve the individual’s familiarization with the environmental practices and programs of the Company. + Assists departmental staff with large projects, as needed. + Assist in the development of and gather data for trend analysis and reporting. + Assist in the development and submission of permit applications and planning documents. + Perform site walk downs and material inventory reviews for plan development. + Generate spreadsheets and flow diagrams for the dissemination of key environmental data for both internal and external clients. + Assist with the development of internal computerized training tools. + Plans and controls all activities to provide an accident-free workplace. + Conducts work activities to ensure compliance with environmental rules and regulations. + Regularly review assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness. + Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods. + Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the manager. Qualifications **Required Education/Experience** Available full time during the Summer 2026 semester (May - August) Pursuing **a Bachelor’s degree** with declared major in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or other related environmental degrees. Minimum 3.00 GPA **Work Conditions** Mostly Office environment, with occasional field, or plant visits.
