**Job Description**
Be a critical part of a team that keeps the energy flowing! On Olsson’s Substation & Power Generation team, you’ll help design systems that safely and reliably deliver power to communities. As a **Group Leader** on Olsson’s Substation & Power Generation team, you will lead a skilled group of professionals focused on designing safe, reliable, and future‑ready power infrastructure. This role is ideal for a leader who excels in mentorship, technical guidance, strategic planning, and who enjoys building strong client relationships while connecting daily project work to broader team and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and technical staff, supporting growth and development across all experience levels.
+ Foster a culture of open communication, trust, collaboration, and alignment with the Substation & Power Generation team’s vision.
+ Oversee project execution and quality assurance to ensure successful delivery of substation design projects.
+ Monitor group performance, workload, and utilization to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies that enhance efficiency.
+ Guide process development and resource planning to support operational excellence across project lifecycles.
+ Serve as a client‑facing leader, building strong relationships and representing Olsson with professionalism and deep technical understanding.
+ Help team members connect their technical contributions to the broader goals and long‑term direction of the Substation & Power Generation team and the organization.

+ At least four years of experience supervising technical personnel, with a demonstrated ability to lead through others and support teams across varying experience levels.
+ 8+ years of technical experience in substation design or related high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
+ A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred. An associate degree with equivalent experience will also be considered.

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.
Colorado Pay Range
$144,000-$198,000USD
