Job Title: Substation/Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This position involves providing engineering expertise for mid to large-scale substation projects. The role requires a deep understanding of substation design and the ability to work with voltages exceeding 138kV. Candidates should be proficient in using AutoCAD and Microstation, and have experience in supporting EPC construction projects.
Responsibilities
Provide substation engineering for mid to large-scale projects.Design systems with voltages higher than 138kV.Utilize AutoCAD and Microstation software effectively.Support EPC construction projects with engineering insights.Engage in physical substation engineering with a focus on high-voltage design.Essential Skills
At least 4 years of substation engineering experience.Experience in supporting high voltage electrical systems of 138kV and above.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.Knowledge of voltage distribution and power delivery systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with 765kV systems is a plus.Construction background is advantageous.Understanding of electric utility systems and coordination.Knowledge of P&C (Protection & Control) is beneficial.Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting with work hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. Minimal travel is required. The company offers a supportive work environment with benefits including ESOP, 30 work-from-home days, and a 9/80 schedule allowing for every other Friday off.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
