Posting Details Position Information Job Title Student Van Driver - Spring 2026 Department Transportation Services Job Description/Duties The SUNY Cortland Transportation Department is seeking part-time student drivers to drive a minivan or 12 passenger van throughout campus along a pre-determined route. This position is responsible for transporting students, maintaining records/trip sheets, and operating large vehicles.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will: Use a minivan/12 passenger van stopping at designated campus locations and following a pre-determined schedule. Adhere to SUNY Cortland, state and federal transportation regulations, protocols and procedures. Ability to communicate with supervisor regarding schedules Maintain records of trips/persons transported and submit weekly reports to supervisor. inspect assigned van and maintain responsibility for safe operating conditions, as well as exterior and interior cleaning and daily fuel and fluid checks. Adhere to student transportation schedules as closely as possible while being able to adapt as needed in the event of last minute changes be available to work approximately 8 to 10 hours each week. Days/Hours Needed Part-time Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to midnight Campus Location/Bldg. Transportation Services – 3739 Stratton Drive (Lower Campus) Required Qualifications Must be a current SUNY Cortland student Valid New York State Driver’s license with two years experience Clean driving record free of tickets, citations or infractions Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. ability to plan and execute daily routes Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and clients.
