Classification Minimum Requirements: Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Florida. Job Description: Assist with migrating content from the existing UFTI-T2 website to a new WordPress template. Customize website appearance and features using WordPress themes, widgets, and plugins in line with UF branding and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1). Collaborate with staff to identify website improvement needs and implement new functionalities (e.g., interactive course listings, resource libraries, registration enhancements). Create and update program-specific FAQ pages using ChatGPT-style writing to provide engaging and accessible information. Support the design and integration of a ChatGPT-based assistant to help users navigate manuals (e.g., operations guides, user handbooks, training documents). Conduct periodic website audits to ensure content accuracy, mobile responsiveness, and compliance with UF's digital policies. Work closely with the UFTI communications team and UF IT support to coordinate technical needs. Expected Salary:$18-$25 per hour
Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Florida. Demonstrated experience managing or developing WordPress websites. Familiarity with modern web tools and plugins (Elementor, WPForms, Yoast SEO, etc.). Understanding of web accessibility standards and responsive design principles. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft engaging, concise content.Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently while meeting deadlines
Preferred: Experience with UF’s web policy and digital standards. Background in communications, web design, computer science, or related field. Experience creating content-specific chatbots using tools like ChatGPT or OpenAI APIs. Familiarity with building AI assistants for user manuals or technical documentation—such as setting up a chatbot that understands and responds to questions based on a manual’s content.
