Job Description:
As a Structures Technician, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.
• Perform thorough inspection of aircraft parts, identifying and documenting any signs of damage or wear.
• Comply with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures.
• Execute component repairs on various structural components and parts.
• Fabricate and/or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components.
• Perform mechanical, electrical removals and installations as required.
• Interpret and follow aircraft component maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Assist with complex structural repairs off aircraft.
• Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and compliance with aviation regulations.
• Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.
Here’s what is required to succeed as a Structures Technician. Minimum of 3 years of structural component/parts repair and modification experience or sustained similar experience. Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred. CRJ airframe experience a plus. MRO experience a plus. Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus. Completed Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling is preferred. FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred, not required. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials. Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings. Possess required set of tools. Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing. Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system. Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable. Requirements Must pass Fastener Plate Test after approval but prior to confirming start date Must have 3+ years related structural/sheet metal component MRO experience CRJ airframe experience a plus If former military, military Depot/Isochronal/Phase Inspections experience is a plus Must be able to work any shift Must be comfortable with 12-hour shifts which includes days/nights/weekends Must Have their own tools – see tools list and toolbox requirements Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship. Must be able to effectively communicate in English both orally and written.
