The Role & Its Impact

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global aerospace leader to find a Structures Technician to support advanced spacecraft manufacturing in Mesa, AZ. In this hands-on role, you’ll be a critical contributor to the bonding, assembly, and structural integrity of next-generation spaceship airframes. Your craftsmanship will directly influence performance, safety, and mission success—on the ground and beyond.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

Assemble composite and metallic parts and assemblies of varying complexity and size

Set up assembly fixturing and perform drilling, fay sealing, trimming, fitting, and fastener installation

Safely operate shop tools and machinery including drills, die grinders, calipers, and precision measurement tools

Drill a wide range of hole sizes in composite, metal, and mixed-material stack-ups

Install and work with multiple fastener types such as Hi-Lite, Hi-Lok, and Composi-Lok

Follow detailed assembly instructions, drawings, blueprints, and digital models

Ensure quality and efficiency through troubleshooting and process improvements

Provide technical input for assessment, repair, and maintenance recommendations

Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, FOD prevention, and regulatory requirements

Collaborate across teams to meet daily deliverables with a strong focus on execution and accountability

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

3+ years of aircraft fabrication and assembly experience (or equivalent industry experience)

Hands-on experience in a precision, manual manufacturing environment

Familiarity with multiple aircraft fastener types and installation/removal techniques

Knowledge of proper drill speeds, feeds, hole angularity, and tolerances

Proficiency using specialized tools and equipment for aircraft assembly and repair

Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and digital work instructions

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely use PPE

Preferred Qualifications

A&P training preferred

Experience applying current manufacturing practices and eagerness to learn cutting-edge spacecraft manufacturing techniques

Experience with hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), Jiffy/E-Tech tools, and Setti Tec

Knowledge of troubleshooting and quality repairs of malfunctioning systems

Familiarity with lean manufacturing philosophies and tools

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture

Safety-first approach with excellent housekeeping, tool control, and hazardous material handling awareness

Pay Details: $31.00 to $40.00 per hour
