**Job Title: Structures Technician** **Pay Range:** $35 – $45/hour (based on experience) **Location:** Birmingham, AL **Type:** Contract-to-Hire | Long-Term Opportunity **Job Description** We are seeking skilled **Structures Technicians** to perform heavy structural maintenance, repairs, and modifications on commercial aircraft. This role offers competitive pay, stability, and long-term growth in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment. **Military candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.** Your sheet metal and structural repair experience in rotary- or fixed-wing aircraft (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard) is highly valued. **Key Responsibilities** **Aircraft Structures:** • Perform structural repairs, modifications, and heavy maintenance on aircraft frames and components • Use blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering drawings to complete repairs • Install, remove, and replace rivets, fasteners, and panels with precision • Conduct detailed inspections to ensure compliance with FAA and company standards • Accurately document work performed to meet regulatory and quality requirements **Hangar Operations:** • Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in a hangar environment • Work on structural overhauls, modifications, and retrofits • Collaborate with maintenance teams to return aircraft to service quickly and safely **AOG Support (as needed):** • Assist with urgent repairs for aircraft-on-ground (AOG) events • Work efficiently under time-sensitive conditions **Qualifications** • **Required:** 3+ years of aircraft structures experience (modification or repair) • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals • Proficiency with riveting, sheet metal fabrication, and precision fitting • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency to meet operational demands **Preferred Skills** • Commercial aircraft experience (will consider military platforms) • Experience in modification, repair, and heavy checks • Familiarity with corrosion identification and prevention **Why Work Here?** • **Competitive Pay:** $35 – $45/hour, based on experience • **Military-Friendly:** Sheet metal and structural repair skills from service transfer directly to this role • **Long-Term Stability:** Contract-to-hire with career growth opportunities • **Team Environment:** Work alongside skilled technicians in a supportive setting • **Flexible Schedule:** Day shift (Mon–Fri), with potential 2nd and 3rd shift options available **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
