Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structures Design Engineer specializing in Aero Engineering Structures. This role involves providing sustainment support, liaison, design, and integration for both our existing core product line and new projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, integration, and maintenance of the SABIR system and engage with customers to deliver engineering solutions. The role demands a proactive approach, involving research and development, hardware investigations, and process improvements.
Responsibilities
+ Support the development of weight-optimized, compliant airworthy components and structural assemblies.
+ Perform structural analysis of primary and secondary structures and systems.
+ Independently develop imaginative and practicable technical solutions.
+ Perform detailed 3D designs and generate CAD drawings and related documents.
+ Create, review, and approve drawings, structural substantiation reports, and engineering materials.
+ Plan and organize work to meet multiple demands efficiently.
+ Document and troubleshoot component anomalies.
+ Provide technical oversight and mentorship to staff.
+ Participate and present in internal and external design reviews.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
+ 10-20 years of direct engineering design experience in the aerospace or spacecraft industry.
+ 5-10 years of experience with classical hand stress analysis methods.
+ Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
+ Experience in technical report writing and excellent communication skills in English.
+ Advanced stress analysis capability using NASTRAN and finite element modeling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5 years of experience with CAD Software, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
+ 10 years of experience with detailed FEA methods and/or NASTRAN (FEMAP) finite element modeling.
+ Experience with composites, such as fiberglass/carbon fiber and honeycomb constructions.
+ Experience with fracture mechanics.
+ 5 years of experience with government and FAA regulations.
+ Design experience with sensors, avionics, and complex kinematic systems.
+ Working knowledge of manufacturing processes like machining and rapid prototyping.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a collaborative team environment, requiring travel to support company or customer needs, including installation, training, and testing globally. The work is dynamic and involves using state-of-the-art engineering tools and software, with a focus on innovation and technical excellence.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Brooksville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
