Job Title: Structural Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder with expertise in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) to join our structural steel fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling structural steel components according to specifications, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

Perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) on structural steel components in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.Set up and operate welding equipment, including wire feeders, power sources, and safety gear.Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to industry standards (AWS D1.1 or similar).Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication plans.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all OSHA and company safety protocols.Collaborate with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any issues promptly.

Essential Skills

Proficient in FCAW welding techniques.Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.Minimum 2 years of structural welding experience, preferably in a steel fabrication environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification (preferred).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions (overhead, vertical, horizontal).Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Work Environment

The work takes place in a non-temp controlled fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery. It requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required to meet project deadlines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Castle, DE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
