**Job Title: Structural Welder**
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled structural welder to perform fluxcore MIG welding on components for the fabrication of steel bridges up to 1/2" thick. You will work from blueprints to perform full layouts and fabricate components accordingly. The role includes operating overhead and Jib cranes and using various equipment such as band saws, drill presses, stud welders, and grinders. This position is dynamic and involves moving around the shop to fabricate and weld bridges, often requiring you to crawl under materials and weld in challenging positions. There is potential to take on a lead welder role, so previous lead experience is valuable.
Responsibilities
+ Perform fluxcore MIG welding on steel bridge components up to 1/2" thick.
+ Interpret and work from blueprints to complete full layouts and fabrication.
+ Operate overhead and Jib cranes as needed.
+ Utilize various fabrication equipment including band saws, drill presses, and grinders.
+ Maintain flexibility in tasks, moving around the shop to fabricate and weld bridges.
+ Crawl under materials and weld in awkward positions when necessary.
+ Potentially take on a lead welder role, demonstrating leadership skills.
Essential Skills
+ Strong structural welding experience.
+ Proficiency in MIG welding, flux core welding, and wire feed techniques.
+ Ability to work independently and determine tasks without direction.
+ Capable of consistently lifting 50lbs, kneeling, stooping, and crawling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with blueprint reading.
+ Ability to pass 3F and 4F weld tests within the first few days and a 3G weld test within the first month.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt.
+ Previous lead experience is a plus.

Work Environment
Work in a small-sized structural fabrication shop that can be messy and lacks air conditioning. Available shifts include 2nd Shift from 4pm to 2:30am and 1st Shift from 6am to 4:30pm, with two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour unpaid lunch.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, Minnesota.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
