Job Description
Join our team as a 2nd Shift Welder where you will provide fabricated structural steel products and services for the construction industry across the Midwest. You will be working with thick steel beams and frames for skyscrapers in Chicago, positioning, laying out, fitting-up, cutting, and welding in accordance with shop drawings.
ResponsibilitiesPosition, layout, fit-up, cut, and weld according to shop drawings.Perform Flux Core welding on thick steel for beams and frames.Weld based on blueprints.Execute some assembly and grinding tasks as needed.Essential Skills1 year of experience in Flux Core welding.Proficiency in welding, particularly in flux core and MIG.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Experience in fabrication and fitting.Competence in structural welding.Additional Skills & Qualifications5 years of experience in MIG welding.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a large, heavy industrial facility that is cleaner than typical for heavy structural welding, though still somewhat dirty. The position operates on the 2nd shift, running from 3pm to 1:30am, Monday through Thursday. There is an opportunity to volunteer for overtime after the training period, which can be worked on Fridays for 5 or 10 hours weekly. A $1.50 premium is available for 2nd shift work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
