Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Structural Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office to independently deliver and lead structural engineering projects ranging from small renovations to large, complex new construction. This role involves producing and overseeing structural drawings and specifications, providing construction phase services, performing assessments and forensic or feasibility studies for existing structures, and developing cost-effective structural system designs in close collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Produce and oversee structural drawings and specifications for a variety of projects from small renovations to large and complex new constructions.Provide construction phase services such as reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits to observe completed work for general conformance with project requirements.Perform assessments and forensic or feasibility studies for existing structures to be improved, purchased, or repaired.Develop cost-effective structural system designs and provide concept options and system pros and cons for informed decision-making.Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality and efficient structural solutions.Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.Mentor junior engineers and designers, including providing guidance on calculations and document reviews.Build and maintain long-term client relationships.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in structural engineering and design, including structural analysis.Ability to lead and work independently or as part of a team of structural engineers, designers, and draftspersons.Experience in producing structural construction documents, including drawings and specifications.Capability to provide construction phase services and perform site visits.Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in managing project budgets and resources.Strong mentoring skills to guide Structural Designers and Junior Engineers.Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
