Structural DesignerAbout the Role We’re looking for a driven and detail‑oriented Structural Designer to join our growing team in Brookfield, CT. If you enjoy blending hands‑on fieldwork with technical problem‑solving—and want to be part of a collaborative, supportive engineering group—this could be the perfect fit. In this role, you’ll work on a diverse mix of projects ranging from custom homes and renovations to specialty engineering for steel fabricators. You’ll participate in site walkthroughs, perform structural analysis, create detailed drawings, and support construction‑phase activities—all while building relationships with clients, contractors, and internal team members. You won’t just sit behind a desk; you’ll see your work come to life in the field. Key Responsibilities + Conduct site walkthroughs and field assessments to document existing conditions. + Perform structural analysis and design for: + Custom single‑family homes + Structural repairs and renovations + New construction + Specialty engineering for steel fabricators + Develop accurate and detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD. + Complete construction‑phase site inspections to verify alignment with design intent. + Collaborate closely with clients, colleagues, and contractors to ensure project success. Essential Qualifications + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration. + 1–4 years of structural engineering experience. + Solid understanding of structural systems, including steel, cold‑formed steel, engineered and commodity lumber, masonry, aluminum, concrete foundations, and retaining walls. + Experience conducting structural analysis and pre‑/post‑construction site visits. + Proficiency in AutoCAD. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Skills + EIT certification. + Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. + Experience using structural design software such as RISA‑3D or RAM. + Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
