This Structural Design Engineer role focuses on the structural design and coordination of metal building systems from concept through completion. The engineer will support multiple active projects while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners. Daily work includes applying industry codes, reviewing drawings, and ensuring designs meet both customer and compliance requirements. This position offers exposure to varied projects and long-term professional development.
Responsibilities:
Develop metal building designs using established engineering practices, applicable codes, and internal standardsReview drawings and project documents for accuracy, constructability, and compliancePartner with sales, estimating, drafting, and project teams to clarify scope and technical requirementsCommunicate design intent clearly through written documentation and verbal discussionsSupport project execution beyond design, assisting through fabrication and completion as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical EngineeringFive or more years of experience in building or structural design with a strong emphasis on steel structuresWorking knowledge of AISC, AISI, ASCE 7, and model building codesExperience with design software such as MBS and RISA preferredMust be able to pass pre-employment screenings
