We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Strategic Research team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Strategic Investment Research Analyst supports the Global Strategic Research Team in producing Mercer’s global intellectual capital, with a particular focus on investment themes. This role is pivotal in ensuring we deliver high quality, quantitative and qualitative, global strategic research to support Mercer’s Wealth business and all of its clients. Our intellectual capital also underpins our OCIO business, and agendas of our Global Investment Forum series (among others).
You will collaborate with a core team of highly skilled strategic researchers – spread across London, Bristol, Toronto and Sydney – with contact with other specialist teams around the world.

We will count on you to:
Assist the global strategic research team in providing quantitative analytics, and qualitative research to support our strategic research views on long term themes, and related communication material.Keep up-to-date on current investment trends and themes; help to identify and develop Mercer’s investment themes and opportunities.Drive the production side of our processes, for instance maintaining our theme summary material or quarterly thematic updates, project managing some of our material to final delivery.Build and maintain strong relationships with external parties such as specialist fund managers to explore investment ideas, develop research agendas.Work closely with other specialist teams, in particular our manager research boutiques, alternatives teams, sustainable investment team, delegated solutions and investment consulting colleagues to refine our team’s material, and to support intellectual capital development in respect of their specialist areas.Provide ad-hoc support to consultants in preparing thematic material for internal and external research meetings.What you need to have:
Fluent English level (C1/C2).Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics or other business-related areas with strong quantitative and analytical course content.Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills.Strong researching and critical-thinking skills; ability to interpret and use qualitative and quantitative data to reach conclusions and explain them in terms that others can understand.Proven experience of research Investment knowledge: market awareness, asset class knowledge, asset allocation knowledge, responsible investment, investment/risk tools (including MercerInsight and Datastream/Databank); eagerness to learn and keep up to date with the investment industry and market conditions.Self-motivation and an ability to work well in a highly collaborative global team environment.Maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.High proficiency in Excel.What makes you stand out?
