Job Title: Strategic Advisor Position Number: SA1 Location: Virginia Beach VA Worksite: remote/Virginia Beach VA Relocation: No relocation offered for this position Status: Hourly on call Security Clearance: Secret Date Posted: October 9, 2025 Job Summary: The Strategic Advisor will support the Director of Operations and the Program Managers in leading efforts across Department of Defense (DoD) organizations to help optimize R3 deliverables and support. The Strategic Advisor will help establish mutually beneficial, encouraging relationships with R3 clients and maximize creative and innovative collaborative efforts to address requirements where there may be no predefined methodology. Duties and Responsibilities: + Provide review and input to OPNAV, NAVSEA, NECC (to include NECC Echelon IV commands), staffing deliverables to include CDD, CBA, AOA, BCA, and similar JCIDS-related documents. When required, participate in in-person briefings, IPRs and meetings/workshops for same processes. + Closely manage progress against objectives, highlighting roadblocks as soon as they arise and taking ownership for high-quality, timely delivery of R3 objectives. + Give and receive regular developmental feedback and contribute actively to creating a positive, focused, and effective team environment. + Support business development, especially in Southern California Qualifications: + Twenty-five years of military service and Combat Arms warfare qualified. + Experience and intimate knowledge of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command and enterprise, missions, and operational units. + Familiarity with DoD budgeting and programming requirements, processes, and timelines. + Three years of staff experience. + Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills. + A results-driven approach to work, proven personal initiative and an ability to work proactively and with a strong sense of urgency. + Resilience in response to setbacks and an ability to anticipate and overcome barriers to success. + A credible presence, strong presentation skills, and strong ability to communicate with senior leaders. + Capability to manage and make progress against multiple simultaneous demands in short time frames, and to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic context with shifting priorities. + Experience interacting and communicating effectively with members of a complex organization at multiple levels. + Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. + Ability to maintain a Secret clearance, with TS/SCI preferred. + Some travel is associated with this role.
