Store Designer, Worldwide Grocery Real Estate
Description Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Real Estate & Store Development team is seeking a Store Designer. The store design position will support Enterprise Design to enable the design and execution of ufpgrades and small renovations across the network of Amazon Grocery stores including Whole Foods Market. We are an exciting, fast-moving business unit seeking detail-oriented team members who can collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment. You are the right person for this job if you have strong technical design skills, are passionate about customer experience, and can execute design projects under the guidance of senior designers. The ideal candidate will assist in driving projects through various phases of design, supporting operating stores through our remodels, strategic initiatives, and Planned Equipment Replacement Form (PERF) program. Key job responsibilities - Support Senior Designers in implementing brand design standards and concepts. - Assist in managing multiple small-scale design projects across various grocery banners. - Help coordinate with internal and external design partners. - Apply site-specific conditions and standards to store designs. - Support the development of FF&E and Décor packages. - Create and maintain design development documentation. - Prepare presentation materials for cross-functional teams. - Assist in the development of Schematic Design Packages. - Support Construction, Procurement, and Operations Teams by providing technical documentation. - Help maintain project documentation and drawing archives. - Assist in design plan approvals, uploads, and reviews. - Leverage building and health code knowledge to design solutions. - Communicate design details effectively through visual, written, and verbal formats. - Manage assigned project tasks with attention to detail and deadlines. - Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. - Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and organizational skills. A day in the life As a Store Designer, you'll work closely with Senior Designers and cross-functional teams to support design and store development projects from like-for-like equipment replacement to E-commerce solutions to small remodels. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining design documentation, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring project details align with Amazon and Whole Foods design standards. About the team The Enterprise Design team for Worldwide Retail Growth & Development manages all design solutions and documentation across the network of existing Amazon Grocery stores. The Enterprise Design team leads the transformation of our existing multi-banner grocery locations through strategic remodels and innovations. We enhance the shopping experience by modernizing store layout and décor, improving operational efficiency, and implementing the latest technology, all while stores remain open for business. Our customer-obsessed design approach focuses on creating seamless shopping experiences for both in-store and online customers, while ensuring our operations teams can work safely and efficiently during and after remodels. We specialize in executing renovations from small touches to major remodels that elevate customer experience across our established store network. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field - 2+ years of retail experience Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of Adobe design programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign - Knowledge of design process - Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications - Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines - Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite - Grocery retail experience - Experience with basic construction administration tasks Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
