Sterilization Microbiologist
Job Description The microbiologist in this role supports microbiological quality and sterility assurance programs for the cleanroom. This primarily desk-based position focuses on the review, interpretation, and management of microbiological data, including environmental monitoring, cleanroom performance, bioburden, and endotoxin testing. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturing, quality assurance, and sterilization teams to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a robust contamination-control strategy. Responsibilities + Review, trend, and interpret environmental monitoring (EM) data for cleanrooms, including viable and non-viable particulates, surface sampling, and personnel monitoring. + Assess EM excursions, determine potential product impact, and support root-cause investigations. + Collaborate with cleanroom operations to ensure adherence to contamination-control procedures and ISO requirements. + Author, revise, and approve SOPs related to cleanroom behavior, EM programs, and contamination control. + Review and evaluate bioburden and endotoxin test results received from the laboratory. + Prepare technical reports for audits and regulatory inspections. Essential Skills + Strong understanding of microbiology, cleanroom classifications, environmental monitoring programs, and contamination-control principles. + Proficiency in technical writing and report preparation. + Experience with environmental monitoring and bioburden testing, ideally from ISO class 8 or 9 cleanrooms. + 1+ years of cleanroom environmental monitoring experience. + 1+ years of bioburden experience. + Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plymouth, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
