As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for the decontamination, preparation and packing, sterilization, case cart picking and storage, and distribution of sterile instrumentation. Your role is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures by managing and maintaining sterile equipment.
ResponsibilitiesDecontaminate and disinfect instruments using chemical agents and cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps, and disinfectants.Utilize high-level disinfection techniques, including manual cleaning, proper labeling, and operation of ultrasonic cleaners, washers/sterilizers, and automated endoscope reprocessors.Organize and prepare surgical trays, ensuring aseptic technique and proper selection of wrapping materials.Handle and process endoscopes and other specialized medical equipment, including bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, and various ultrasound scopes.Document equipment usage and maintain sterile processing microsystem records.Process specialty equipment for various medical fields including bariatrics, cardiac, ENT, endoscopy, general surgery, and more.Monitor sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators, and conduct testing and monitoring for steam, gas, and Sterrad sterilization methods.Essential SkillsCertification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST required).Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.Proficiency with Epic software.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with various scopes and probes including endoscopic ultrasound scopes, fiber optics, and TEE probes.Knowledge of the sterilization processes and equipment for a wide range of medical specialties.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an acute hospital operating room or an ambulatory surgery center. The work schedule consists of a five-day shift from 08:00 to 16:30 with a weekend rotation requirement, but there is no on-call duty. The role involves working with advanced sterilization and processing equipment in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
