Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Downtown Charleston, SC

Shifts Available:

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday–Friday (includes every other weekend)3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday–Friday (includes every other weekend)

No prior experience required — training and certification provided after hire.

Position Overview

Join a vital healthcare team responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This entry-level role offers hands-on training, certification opportunities, and a clear path for advancement in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, clean, assemble, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment immediately following surgical proceduresPrepare, store, and restock sterile supplies according to established protocolsOperate sterilization equipment to ensure proper decontamination and readinessAccurately document all sterilization and cleaning activitiesSupport operating room and procedural staff with supply and equipment setupMonitor inventory levels and assist with ordering suppliesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAdhere to all safety protocols and report equipment or process issues promptlyParticipate in ongoing training and educational sessionsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDAbility to lift and move up to 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periodsStrong hand-eye coordination and attention to detailEffective communication and problem-solving skillsWillingness to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented mindset with adaptability to changing prioritiesPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare fieldFamiliarity with standard sterilization procedures and equipmentCertification in sterile processing (if already obtained)Experience working in hospital or surgical settingsCompensationEntry-Level: $20.30/hour$1/hour increase after 6 monthsAdditional $2/hour increase upon certificationExperienced Candidates: Starting at $22/hour or higher, based on qualificationsWhy Join Us?On-the-job training and certification providedtuition reimbursement after a yearOpportunity to contribute directly to patient safety and surgical successCompetitive pay with clear advancement milestonesWork in a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environmentBenefits available immediately- State benefits after 6 months
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
