We are seeking a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to oversee sterile compounding operations within a modular cleanroom environment. This role serves as a subject matter expert for sterile compounding practices and is responsible for ensuring compliance with USP , USP , and all applicable state and federal regulations. You will lead sterile compounding activities, supervise and train staff, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This position plays a critical role in supporting both day-to-day production and the development and scale-up of new compounded sterile preparations.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee sterile compounding operations within a modular cleanroom environment.
+ Ensure compliance with USP , USP , and all applicable state and federal regulations.
+ Lead sterile compounding activities and supervise staff.
+ Train staff to uphold safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.
+ Support day-to-day production and the development and scale-up of new compounded sterile preparations.
Essential Skills
+ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
+ Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of employment.
+ Demonstrated experience in sterile compounding; experience compounding from non-sterile starting components strongly preferred.
+ Strong working knowledge of USP , USP , and sterile compounding best practices.
+ Current knowledge of applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
+ Ability to work flexible schedules, including overnight shifts.
+ Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and electronic documentation platforms.
+ Ability to successfully complete respirator fit testing.
+ Proven ability to lead with empathy and professionalism in an in-person pharmacy environment.
+ Ability to lift at least 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
+ Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods, including bending, reaching, kneeling, and walking.
+ Ability to wear required sterile compounding safety equipment for prolonged periods.
+ Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and all PHI security requirements.
+ Ability to maintain a clean, sanitary, and inspection-ready work environment in accordance with FDA and regulatory standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience compounding sterile preparations from non-sterile starting components.
+ Familiarity with electronic batch records, compounding workflow software, and quality management systems.
Work Environment
This role is based in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment with a closed-door pharmacy feel. The shift follows a 6pm-6am 3-2-2-3 schedule, offering flexibility for days on and off, depending on other candidates. You will be required to wear sterile compounding safety equipment for prolonged periods, and the environment demands maintaining a clean, sanitary, and inspection-ready workspace in accordance with FDA and regulatory standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $135200.00/yr.
