**Job Title: Machine Operator Steel**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator responsible for performing advanced production activities on various saws, including vertical and horizontal. You will review work orders and tooling instructions, choose the correct materials, position workpieces, and operate different saws for processing. Your duties will include determining processing specifications, installing and aligning cutting blades, adjusting controls, and conducting quality inspections per AS 9100 standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Review work orders and tooling instructions to determine specifications.
+ Choose correct materials according to work order.
+ Position workpieces for processing and operate different saws.
+ Determine processing specifications such as materials, cut locations, sizes, and tolerances.
+ Install and align cutting blades or fixtures using gauges and hand tools.
+ Adjust controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates.
+ Operate saws during processing based on workload or business needs.
+ Measure and examine pieces using precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
+ Clean and maintain equipment according to procedures.
+ Diagnose problems, make adjustments, and remove scrap from machines.
+ Coordinate and execute material handling.
+ Complete work order paperwork and documentation.
+ Restock materials and mark workpieces before and after processing.
+ Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1 year of machine operation experience
+ 1 year of warehouse experience
+ Proficiency in machine and saw operation
+ Experience in material handling
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education
+ High School diploma/GED preferred
+ Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting saws
+ Experience with overhead crane operation
+ Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge
+ Manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
+ Ability to read and comprehend instructions
+ Basic measurement and arithmetic skills
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
+ Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships

**Work Environment**
This position offers a weekday shift from 1pm to 9:30pm, Monday through Friday, with initial training during the day shift. The role is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse within the aerospace quality sector. You will transition to a swing shift starting at January 2026
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fife, WA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
