Job Summary
Operates, inspects, and maintains all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Performs safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all necessary building systems within technically sophisticated facilities. Ensures equipment operates in an energy efficient, safe manner while minimizing downtime through anticipation of necessary repairs and maintaining records of past operating experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Performance
Perform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and componentsRespond to hot or cold calls, troubleshoot problems and correct as neededMaintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related groundsPerform monthly preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on time and document sameTechnical Operations
Perform electrical tasks including safely replacing lighting, ballasts, lamps and LED driversPerform plumbing tasks including resolving problems with sinks and toilets, unclogging pipesPerform basic carpentry projects including minor construction projects, painting and repairsStudy and become familiar with various equipment and methods required for proper operationSafety and Compliance
Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary and comply with all safety proceduresMaintain compliance to State, County, or City ordinances, codes, or lawsUnderstand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policyComplete all required safety training as scheduledAdditional Duties
Manage outside vendors and contractors as neededPerform assigned facility inspections and due diligence effortsProvide on-call services and respond promptly in instances of emergencyPick up and deliver supplies as neededAfter hour “On Call” availability. Alternate After Hour “On Call” weeks with other building engineering personnel.Minimum Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent work experienceTypically requires a minimum of 2 years’ related experienceExperience
Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, production equipment repair and maintenanceKnowledge of overall system design and applicationsCertifications/Licenses
HVAC technicians must have Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)Licenses as required by authority having jurisdictionPreferred Requirements
Associates degree in HVAC trade school or equivalent job experience3-5 years facilities/maintenance related experienceWorking knowledge of computer applications including Word and ExcelTwo years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC3rd Party CertificationKnowledge, Skills & Abilities

Estimated compensation for this position:
74,880.00 – 79,040.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
