Under general supervision, this position administers membership and salary eligibility for the PERA Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plans. This position resolves both routine and complex situations, and provides guidance to school districts, local units of government, and other entities of actions needed to ensure compliance with program and reporting criteria. This position also collects, analyzes and organizes program activity data. This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligible and offers a hybrid work schedule which may include telework up to 50% of the scheduled workdays each month, based on agency and department needs and other dependencies. Scheduled in-office work days are at PERA’s office building in St. Paul, Minnesota. Candidates located outside the state of Minnesota and more than 50 miles from PERA’s St. Paul office are not eligible to telework and would be required to report to the office full-time. PERA offers parking in an attached ramp at no cost to employees. **Minimum Qualifications** **_*Only applicants whose application and resume clearly demonstrates fulfillment of each minimum qualification listed below will be considered for this position. Also indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held._** One and one-half (1.5) years of experience administering programs and determining benefit eligibility. *A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. Experience **_must_** **_clearly_** demonstrate the following: + Responding to questions from external stakeholders using clear and accurate communication about complex benefit programs such as retirement, healthcare, Social Security, or Medicare + Performing and auditing calculations related to contribution obligations, compound interest, and refund amounts to ensure accuracy + Applying policies, procedures, and systems to make eligibility determinations for benefit plans + Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook to prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and status updates for supervisors, coworkers, stakeholders, and other governmental organizations + Planning and organizing work effectively, including managing multiple tasks, working independently, and contributing in a team environment **Preferred Qualifications** + Knowledge of public pension plans + Knowledge of Minnesota Statutes Chapters 353 and 356, relating to benefits and membership eligibility + A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance **Additional Requirements** It is the policy of the Retirement Systems of MN that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
