Position: State Safety Compliance Auditor
Pay Rate: $20 - $23 per hour
Schedule: M - F 8am - 5pm
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Safety Department Manager, the State Safety Compliance Auditor is responsible for ensuring compliance in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Maintain State specific regulatory compliance data in internal database, FCMRetain and record maintenance receipts and records in compliance with FMCSA, State requirements, and company policyMaintain specific state regulatory compliance requirements to include but not limited to Assembly Bill 5 (AB5), California Air Resources Board testing requirements, and California Basic Inspection of Terminal ProgramAssist with coverage for other members of the team as neededAssign, communicate, and follow up with independent contractors following any items needed regarding service questions or concernsCommunicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state specific requirementsIdentify out of compliance vehicles and contractors and correct compliance deficiencyDrive proactive repair and maintenance of company owned and independent contractor vehiclesCommunicate and cooperate with management staff and other department headsOther duties as assignedQualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent1-2 years of experience in a compliance roleStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent documentation, communication, and proof-reading skillsMust be able to work independently with proper time management skillsMust be able to compose an email using OutlookExcellent writing & proof-reading skills as well as superior verbal, analytical, & organizational skillsComputer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, AS400, Adobe, and other web-based systemsRequires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasksGoal oriented, self-managing with time & project considerationSkills:
