Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Test Engineer to act as a Lab Administrator and to join the Advanced Weapons group in Northridge, CA. This role will be 100% on site without any hybrid opportunities.
The successful candidate will help manage the operations of multiple integration laboratories. The role requires the candidate to track inventory and create processes for lab operations that can fit for different programs and activities. The lab environments will cover a broad spectrum of electronic devices from the component level to the fully integrated system. The selected candidate will be involved in lab operations including, but not limited to laboratory design, test planning, scheduling, execution and reporting, process creation, coordination with operations, standard operation rollouts, and reporting to leadership on lab deficiencies and successes. As a member of the Test and Evaluation Engineering department, the successful candidate will support the stakeholder programs in the integration and testing of various systems supporting in collaboration with multiple engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and support the development of lab spaces in collaboration with engineers and security to develop and test missile components and subsystemsResponsible for looking across the organization for efficiencies including reduction of current plans while still meeting program needsProvide inputs into the architecting of integration facilities that involves identifying and specifying state of the art lab equipment, identifying infrastructure requirements and managing the procurement of hardwareIntegration and test of hardware and software on a wide range of systems in collaboration with a diverse group of engineersBrief management of lab status and progressManage daily lab operations and activities in compliance with policies and proceduresWork with internal and external customers to define and document instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning including data acquisition, processing, and analysis to satisfy test objectivesMaintain the lab spaces to ensure an organized, clean, and safe work areaOrganize data pertaining to lab equipment and hardware in detail for tracking purposesCreate lab processes to ensure lab users have documentation on how the lab operatesRoll out said processes to lab users and ensure adherence to rules and guidelinesBasic Qualifications for a Staff Test Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 12+ years of experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10+ years of experience.Test Lab Environment ExperienceExperience with Test and Evaluation processes and procedures to support both management and engineering tasksExperience with test procedures, development, and executionUnderstanding of test equipment, such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etcCapable of reading and comprehending mechanical and electrical schematicsCurrent US Government DoD Interim Secret security clearance or higher.Preferred Qualifications:
Top Secret ClearanceKnowledge of SW integrationTroubleshooting systems and hardware set upEffective communication and detailed organization skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-based environmentPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
