**About the Role** The Consumer Incentives team is responsible for the profitability and growth trajectory of Uber's business across various verticals, including food and grocery. Our objective is to enhance the customer experience by making it more pleasant and affordable. The team addresses complex challenges in machine learning, optimization, and distributed systems to power products that serve hundreds of millions of individuals globally. \-\-\-\- What You Will Do ---- In this role, you will provide technical leadership, help identify gaps/opportunities, and influence the direction of technical solutions to enhance incentive efficiency, while optimizing user experience across various verticals, including food and grocery. Key responsibilities include: 1. Identifying strategic technical investments to push the efficiency frontier and boost business growth. 2. Leading teams to design and implement technical solutions to meet ambitious business goals. 3. Managing end-to-end project execution, covering ideation, scoping, development, experimentation, productionization, and post-launch operation. 4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, operations, and science partners. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. 7+ years of experience delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative software products with your fingerprints all over them 2. Proven record of engineering skills. Ability to write high-performance production-quality code. Experience in Go, Python, Java, or other equivalent languages. 3. Experience building scalable distributed systems 4. Perseverance to get things done with a focus on shipping online features backed by experiments. 5. Drive to always learn new things and go above and beyond the call of duty. 6. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Always working to improve yourself and constructively support the team around you. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers. 2. Proven experience in data analytics and experimentation tools 3. Strong sense of ownership 4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
