Position Summary
As a Staff Software Development Engineer (Microservices) you’ll be a key contributor in our Integration Engineering organization. We are seeking a proven technical leader to join a high priority program that is focused on transforming CVS customer service experience. We are on a journey to turn technology transformation strategy into action in the form of solution and integration designs.As a Staff Software Development Engineer (Microservices) you will:Research and propose innovative technical integration strategies and solutionsStudy and document architectural frameworks and reference materialDesign and modify components of new and existing IT systems and vendor offerings to promote integrated corporate business systemsDesign, support and deploy mechanisms to enhance, refine, and deliver the architecture visionAnalyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutionsProvide research and development activities for architectureCollaborate with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required. Provide lab and vendor supportProvide guidance for enterprise-wide technology to junior staffDevelop frameworks, standards & reference material for architecture and associated productsDevelop & maintain common services, repositories & utility components for the enterpriseProvide data, application & technology deliverables on a program & project level basis including risk & opportunity assessment, modeling and design related products and servicesManage the architecture governance activities associated with ensuring compliance within organizationAdhere to enterprise architecture strategies, principals, standards, policies, and proceduresRequired Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a technical lead developing middleware integration solution or architecting large scale federated systems4+ years of experience in enterprise, application and information architecture methodologies and design and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience4+ years of experience with architectural abstractions and design patterns4+ Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs that are easy to use, scalable, and secure. Familiarity with best practices for API versioning, error handling, and testing4+ years of experience with Micro Services in cloud environment.4+ years of experience building and maintaining microservices that are loosely coupled, independently deployable, and have well-defined interfaces4+ years of experience in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, and experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, Express.js, etc3+ years of extensive experience designing complex integrations with a focus on performance engineering and loose coupling utilizing APIs and Services3+ years of experience with design considerations for high volume transaction systems2+ years of experience with any or all of the following: Agile/Scrum Development & Management, Scaled Agile Framework, Iterative & Incremental development approaches, Continuous Integration and delivery2+ years of experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD): Understanding of how to use automated testing to ensure the quality and reliability of microservices. Familiarity with tools and frameworks for unit testing, integration testing, and functional testingKnowledge of security concerns specific to microservices: Familiarity with security best practices for microservices and knowledge of security-related topics such as authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure communicationKnowledge of Chaos Engineering: Understanding of the concepts and practices of chaos engineering and its role in building more resilient microservicesUnderstanding of service governance: Familiarity with service governance frameworks such as OpenAPI and how to use them to define and manage the interfaces between microservices

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
