**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
The position provides direct research and research training support at the professional level by directing and executing small, complex research projects or major aspects of larger research projects; and provides extensive guidance to and/or directly supervises technicians, laboratory aides, graduate students, undergraduate students, postdoctoral appointees and professional staff.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment directs complex research projects by first designing experiments to interrogate the importance of GSH catabolism to amino acid supply and cancer cell survival.
+ Develops experiments using standard techniques in the field, including genetic analysis, molecular biology, biochemistry, high-throughput screening, LC-MS/MS analysis.
+ Plans and manages multiple experiments around time constraints.
+ Writes protocols for the conduct of research, which include purposes of study, design of experiments, lists of materials and methods to be used, and the schedule of activities
+ Will use standard approaches to analyze and interpret the results of the studies.
+ Assists in preparation of manuscripts

**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
+ Doctoral Degree. Required
+ PhD in molecular or cell biology. Preferred
+ 2 years of relevant postdoctoral training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
+ Experience with experiments using standard techniques in the field, including genetic analysis, molecular biology, biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, high-throughput screening, LC-MS/MS analysis. Required
