As a Staff R&D Systems Engineer, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to developing innovative products for the medical diagnostics market. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the System Architect for diagnostic products, overseeing the end-to-end solution architecture across various domains including software, hardware, mechanical, and design/UX. You will work on multiple complex projects, ensuring a methodical approach to translating needs into sustainable system architecture while driving cross-domain technical alignment.
ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain system architecture for complex diagnostic products, focusing on structure, key behaviors, interface concepts, allocation boundaries, and architectural budgets such as performance, safety, reliability, and cost.Lead cross-domain trade studies and document architecture decisions, chairing an architecture review forum to ensure timely alignment and decision-making.Provide system-level technical integration intent and ensure that cross-domain implementation choices are consistent with the intended architecture.Collaborate with project systems engineers to translate customer and business needs into clear system requirements, guiding allocation to subsystem requirements.Review, develop, and approve architectural content expressed in MBSE models and associated architecture documentation, ensuring consistency across views.Partner with Diagnostics leadership to research and recommend forward-looking architecture options to support the diagnostics business unit roadmap.Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical decisions with business objectives and communicate technical vision to executives and external partners.Mentor systems engineers in best practices regarding system architecting and model-based approaches, establishing reusable architecture patterns.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in systems engineering or a related field focused on embedded systems.10+ years of systems engineering experience within a regulated market, preferably in the medical device industry.Ability to obtain certification and OMG SysML Model Builder Advanced certification within 2 years of employment.Experience working with embedded/real-time systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with MATLAB.Expertise in shaping IP strategies aligned with organizational goals.Ability to drive the creation of significant and impactful intellectual property.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in the newly opening office in Blue Ash, OH, which will focus solely on diagnostic equipment. The role requires working in the office four days a week, with occasional travel to the headquarters in Versailles. This offers a dynamic work environment where you can be at the forefront of innovation in medical diagnostics.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $64.90 - $93.75/hr.
