The Design Opportunity
We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our team. This role will work principally on the digital products for Houseful, one of our Ventures with exciting plans for change and growth this year and beyond. Our environment combines the pace and ownership of a startup with the stability and scale of a larger organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning high-impact work end-to-end and influencing product direction through design, while helping raise the bar for craft, UX thinking, and systems design.

What we’re looking for
8+ years of practical experience in product design
Proven experience leading the design of digital products in Agile workflows – from discovery to launch, and in post-launch cycles through rapid analysis and iteration
An exceptional portfolio that showcases strong UX judgement, high-quality craft (interaction & visual design), and meaningful outcomes
A genuine empathy and curiosity for users, which motivates elegant, thoughtful solutions to real customer needs
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including building and maintaining component-driven design across highly interactive web applications and mobile apps (iOS, Android); solid experience utilizing AI tools
Strong communication, collaboration and narrative skills when working with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Demonstrated ability to think in systems
Expertise in building cohesive, durable design systems that scale and evolve over time
A track record of raising the bar for quality and process
What you’ll be doing
Design high-impact features and flows, sometimes end-to-end; other times driving improvements by overhauling or optimizing existing experiences for maximal impact
Deeply understand our customers, their pain points and unmet needs by absorbing data from a variety of sources and methodologies. Stay rooted in customer problems throughout the design process
Apply your creative thinking methods to ideate past obvious options, identify and advocate for optimal solutions, and continuously assess their effectiveness
Craft polished, intuitive, and scalable experiences —solving for multiple flows, states and edge cases. Communicate design decisions with conviction and evidence.
Collaborate closely with partners in Product and Engineering along with other designers and stakeholders. As a trusted member of the team, you will be expected to communicate frequently, honestly and with good intent, as your voice will influence the product roadmap and strategy
Elevate our practice by contributing to and evolving our design system; via thoughtful, informed critique; and by leveraging experience and know-how to improve our quality and processes
Help build our culture of excellence, fun and camaraderie
It’ll be highly helpful if you have…
Experience designing and delivering products in proptech, real estate, fintech, and/or SaaS-based environments
Experience embedding AI functionality into product experiences, or ideating net-new AI-based features
Experience in CRO (conversion rate optimization), throughout the user journey
Demonstrated capability to push creativity and technical innovation
Deep understanding and experience in delivering WCAG-compliant digital products and advocating for inclusive design principles
Nice to have
Experience working in organizations going through growth, change, or post-acquisition integration
Comfort balancing product depth with occasional lighter-weight surface work (e.g., limited marketing-adjacent needs)
Undergraduate degree/graduate diploma in Design (e.g., interaction, visual communications, product, industrial) or a related field, or equivalent education, qualifications & experience
