General Duties: The Staff Pharmacist shall perform clinical, distributive, supervisory, and educational functions necessary to support the departmental functions under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacy. He/she uses critical thinking skills and exercises independent decision-making as needed for the provision of safe and rational medication therapy. In addition, the Pharmacist works to uphold all department-related policies and procedures with close attention to medication management duties dictated by the Joint Commission. Furthermore, he/she understands and exemplifies excellent customer service, professionalism and positive attitude. Position Qualifications: Required: + Pharm.D. degree from accredited university (may consider RPh with extensive hospital experience) + Possess a valid CA pharmacist's license (maintain current at all times) + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Current American Heart Association CPR or within 30 days of hire (maintain current at all times) + Must be available to work full-time Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 12-hour shifts Preferred: + Office (Word, Excel, PPT) experience + Familiarity with Meditech + Familiarity with Pyxis
