Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking Staff IPT Design Systems Engineer.
What You’ll Get to Do:
IPT-Level role within the Design Team - This role works at the Segment/IPT level of an extremely complex System comprised of multiple Segments, all of which incorporate mature and emerging technologies. This engineer will help lead the multi-function design teams to progress and mature the segment, and support critical engineering reviews and milestones (e.g. SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR).
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA.
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Staff IPT Design Systems Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 10 years of experience with Master's degree, 8 years of experience with PhD
• Proven ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary (Software, Hardware, Electrical, Specialty) engineering teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals
• Demonstrated experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle and successfully supporting major reviews
• Demonstrated experience working with architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes, specifically system architecture and design synthesis
• Demonstrated experience using model based engineering tools, such as UML or SysML
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills, and ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
• Current active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications for Staff IPT Design Systems Engineer:
• Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Experience engineering complex systems that incorporate emerging technologies/technologies under development
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems
• Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (e.g., UAF, DoDAF)
• Experience defining interfaces with software teams for microprocessors / microcontrollers
• Understanding of full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required, especially as related to real-time embedded software
• Experience with MBSE and Requirements management tools, such as Cameo or DOORS
• Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or Confluence
• Familiarity with data visualization tools: Tableau
