We are looking for a Staff Firmware Verification Engineer to act as the technical to develop protocols, guide junior verification test engineers for our firmware test and verification strategy. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role for an expert who has deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and innovation to ensuring embedded software is robust, safe, and ready for regulatory scrutiny.
You will be responsible for designing the entire verification ecosystem for our instrument firmware—from architecting scalable automation frameworks to developing and executing the formal test protocols that prove our products are safe and effective. You will build the systems and provide the objective evidence that ensures our firmware is ready for the clinic.
This position is part of the Software Test Engineering team in the Hardware Engineering organization located in Bengaluru, IDC, India and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Develop end‑to‑end firmware verification strategies and automated test frameworks for diagnostic/medical devices using industry-standard tools and methodologies
+ Design, implement, and execute automated black‑box and white‑box test suites, including test methods, plans, cases, execution, and documentation, using firmware engineering tools, APIs/SDKs, and Python
+ Build, configure, and maintain Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) test systems to enable automated, repeatable verification of firmware on target hardware
+ Generate verification plans, protocols, and reports compliant with IEC 62304 and FDA regulatory expectations to support formal regulatory submissions
+ Integrate automated firmware tests into CI/CT pipelines using established DevOps tools to ensure continuous, measurable verification coverage and system readiness
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer/electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience OR Master’s with 6+ years of experience.
+ Strong expertise in testing and verification of embedded software/firmware for systems involving robotics, motion control, thermal control, sonication, or optics. with test case management tools (e.g., Helix, TestRail, Zephyr) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
+ Expert-level programming skills in Python for test automation and framework development and strong understanding of embedded C/C++.
+ Hands-on experience architecting, building, and using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test platforms.
+ Experience in working in a regulated industry such as diagnostic/ devices, avionics, or automotive is mandatory and hands-on work with design the debugging method and system with essential debugging tools, like Scopes/logic analyzers, sensor logging devices, etc.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Direct, in-depth experience working under IEC 62304 guidelines.
+ Experience with formal software V&V processes under an ISO 13485 Quality Management System.
