Northrop Grumman is seeking a **Staff Engineer Software Quality** to support the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. This role is located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, AL.

**What You'll Get To Do:**
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting one or more Agile software development teams (IPTs) on the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Our focus is on ensuring process execution and efficiencies in the development, testing and release of the software deliverables.
+ The successful candidate will have knowledge and extensive experience as a Quality Engineer to help analyze the software architecture, design, development, and release of software systems for our DoD platforms.
+ The position will afford the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization – effective communication skills are a must.
+ In addition, the candidate will provide expert advice and guidance to team members and customers regarding specific technical aspects of systems or concept development.
+ Promote quality into the product through-out the software development life cycle for the Sentinel program.
+ Help guide Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team members to their full potential; by sharing knowledge of software processes and tools.
+ Collaborate with Mission Assurance, Software Engineering and discipline leads (Systems/Test).
+ Communicate with the customer and DCMA.Ensure the development and implementation of robust Software Quality plans, documents, checklists and training materials.
+ Crosswalk Division/Program documents to ensure consistency and accuracy of the SQA role/responsibilities.
+ Provide senior technical oversight for problem resolution activities, root cause analysis and preventive/corrective action implementation.
+ Work within multiple security classifications with team members located at multiple sites.
+ Support development of SQA & software metrics (via Jira Dashboards). Perform trend analysis.
+ Provide status reports.
+ Support formal test events.
+ Support Peer Reviews of artifacts for engineering release.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors of Science (BS) with 12 years of related experience; or a Masters degree with 10 years of related experience; or a PhD with 8 years of related experience.
+ Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
+ Recent experience working within a large software program as a Scrum Master/Product Owner/Software Lead or a Software Quality Assurance Lead.
+ Full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the processes, plans, standards, industry practices and/or tools required of a mission-critical program.
+ Experience working within an Agile environment (fast-paced/incremental development/delivery).
+ Experience with project planning, requirements, code design and/or quality tools (ex: Jira, Confluence, Cameo, DOORS, Gitlab, static analysis tools).
+ Familiar with DevStar and the software CI/CD pipeline (DevOps).
+ Understanding of Systems/Software requirements/design process (traceability/testability)
+ Experience supporting test events
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience and Work Package Lead (WPL) experience
+ DO-178C knowledge
+ Experience with Tableau
+ Familiar with Container development and programming languages
+ Familiar with DevStar
Salary Range: $134,300.00 - $201,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
