We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Electromechanical Engineer based out of Aurora, CO. As a Staff Electromechanical Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Your experience in mechanical engineering, SAP, structural analyses, thermal analyses would be the perfect addition to our team. In addition, the ability to mentor junior engineers, understanding of RF systems, understanding of environmental requirements and impacts to designs and sell-off. What You’ll get to Do:

Solve complex technical issues with limited supervisionMechanical design and packaging of special test equipment (STE) antenna, RF, digital, infrastructure, and test hardware products, including avionics modules, racks, and interface test adapters.Perform thermal and structural analyses as required.Support electrical-mechanical tradeoffs and physical verification and qualification testing for new designs, as required.Mentor & lead jr. electromechanical engineers

Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Electromechanical Engineer:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or closely related STEM field with a minimum of 12 years related experience; OR 10 years related experience with a Masters (MS) degree in STEM. 9 years with a PhDCLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI required at the time of application to be considered.Experience with electronics packaging design, including special test equipment (STE) design, CAD modeling techniques, and thermal/structural analysis methods.Proficiency in relevant CAD software.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Capable of designing to a hardware requirements specification.Demonstrated understanding of mechanical design principles and techniques.Demonstrated success working individually or as part of a team requiring little supervision.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Hardware Lead experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical/electrical engineersCAM/EVMS Certification or CAM/EVMS experienceExperience driving preliminary/critical design reviews for mechanical and electrical designsExperience working with Global Supply Chain (GSC)Proposal Lead and BOE writing experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
