Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Electronics Engineer - Field Response Integrated Product Team Deputy to our team in Palmdale, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
Under the direction and leadership of the Field Response Engineer Manager, the candidate will work with their team to provide real-time and post-operation engineering support to the field, coordinate with all stakeholders to drive the resolution of field technical challenges, and report technical issues to development colleagues and leadership to improve the long-term performance of the system.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Drive timely execution of operations and sustainment engineering efforts.Maintain technical performance metrics on behalf of the Field Response Engineering Manager.Maintain the team’s digital presence by aligning to the program’s Digital Transformation strategy (i.e. Confluence & Jira).Facilitate process improvement initiatives with functional and program counterparts focused on requirements related to statement of work.Represent Field Response Manager and Operating Unit (OU) Sub-Pillar Lead by driving timely and efficient resolution of Engineering Support Requests or Field Service Action RequestsEnsure consistent vertical and horizontal integration across the program technical teams with respect to managing software and hardware compatibility and changesParticipate in Technical Review Board meetings, provide OU leadership feedback to engineering teams, and facilitate communication between the technical teams and program leads concerning impacts to the end-user/customerRepresent Field Response Manager and Sub-Pillar OU Lead in Maintenance Review Board meetings, working collaboratively with program and customer counterparts to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive technical data package delivery to the fieldAssist Field Response Manager on all programmatic aspects of the Integrated Product Team; to include Earned Value Management, Staffing, Change Management, and Risks and Issues.The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience.Experience leading cross-functional technical teams of 10+ individualsExperience as Cost Account Manager (CAM) or Work Package Manager, with proven ability to manage technical projects within cost/schedule constraintsActive DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: Additional SAP clearance may be required once in role.)Preferred Qualifications:
Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.CAM certificationDemonstrated ability to lead IFC integration processes and proceduresPrior experience with Network Architecture design and implementationExperience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira and Confluence) or similar suiteSalary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
