Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

We are seeking an experienced Staff Cyber Systems Engineer to execute engineering and proposal activities in support of future opportunities. The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance and technical oversight with respect to System Security Engineering, Anti-Tamper (AT), and System Authorizations. The selected candidate will regularly coordinate across multiple IPTs and disciplines to ensure program integration. This position requires practical experience in developing and implementing a security baseline for a capture program and must be able to communicate their significance and relevancy in a clear, detailed manner.

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform System Security Engineering as described by NIST SP 800-160; Systems Security Engineering: Considerations for a Multidisciplinary Approach in the Engineering of Trustworthy Secure Systems

• Requirements analysis and decomposition to generate a high-level Cyber Security architecture that employ Zero Trust approaches across the various segments and sub-systems within a weapon system.

• Identify program countermeasures and considerations for Program Protection to include Cyber Supply Chain threats and Cyber Supply Risk Management

• Decomposition of tasks sourced from the Statement of Work and Work Breakdown Structure to develop basis of estimates for staffing.

• Provide advanced technical analyses of cyber infrastructure challenges and problems; develop/identify technical solutions responsive to customer needs.

• Participate in program Technical Review Boards

• Assist with ensuring the product requirements integrate into the total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

• Present solutions to customers and senior management using tailored material based on the audience.

• Design, plan, implement, and perform assessment of security controls, polices, and processes compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoW Authorization guidance.

• Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

• Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

• The ability to effectively communicate with engineers and management from multiple disciplines

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 12 years of relevant experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience, OR 8 years of experience with a PhD in a STEM discipline 

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret prior to starting, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

• Must have hands on experience in one of the following Cyber engineering disciplines: cybersecurity principles, security components, implementation, or testing

• Experience in systems engineering with MBSE, software design, or demonstrated ability to work with software-aided design tools in the development of system architecture.

• Experience leading engineering teams

• Experience in system design, integration, or test of aircraft systems with an emphasis in Cyber Survivability and System Security.

• Must be able to obtain a DoD 8140 Intermediate Level Certification for Security Architect (i.e. SecurityX/CASP+, CISSP, CSSLP, GSEC or equivalent) within 6 months of start

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently hold a DoD 8140 Advanced Level Certifications for Security Architect (i.e. SecurityX/CASP+, CISSP, CSSLP, GSEC or equivalent) within 6 months of start

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

• Certification at or exceeding IASAE level 1 (CISSP or CASP or CSSLP minimum and CISSP-ISSEP for Level III)

• Experience working with DevOps Processes, Physical and/or Cloud Infrastructure.

• Familiarity with computer architecture and applications.

• Experience conducting integration and verification testing through formal test acceptance and sign off.

• Familiarity with Anti-Tamper architecture, including secure AT system engineering and vulnerability assessments.

• Experience working with Government contracts and customer representatives.

Primary Level Salary Range: $168,200.00 - $252,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
