JOB DESCRIPTION
ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Account II is responsible for either personally or through subordinates, prepares and reviews financial statements and prepares extensive financial analysis of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s results and comparisons to other casinos and the industry.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
Reviews journal entries to General LedgerMonitors fluctuations in departmental results and variances from budgetsMaintains and updates General Ledger system and reportsMaintains Fixed Asset accounting systemReviews detailed account analysisReviews bank reconciliationsCoordinates information flow with operating departmentsAssists in budget preparation and maintenancePrepares extensive financial analysis of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s results and comparisons to other casinos and the industryCompiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to General Ledger accounts documenting business transactionsAnalyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and prepares Balance Sheet and other reports to summarize the current and projected company financial positionsAudits contracts, purchase orders and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlementIdentifies variances from budgetsMaintains records of company owned or leased equipment, buildings and other property. May conduct periodic inventories to keep records current Qualifications Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Accounting required as well as two (2) to four (4) years of accounting and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experienceMust possess excellent time management skillsMust possess knowledge of hotel casino operationsComputer systems and 10-key adding machine experience preferredMust possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divideMust possess ability to handle non-standard situations where independent judgment is required and limited guidelines existCPA designation preferred
Work Environment:
Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
